Dessert anyone ?

Its so easy to pick up a spoon and go through an entire dessert, if only it were that easy to jump into a work out! We all know how good it is to work out every day, we all know that refined carbs and sugary desserts aren't good for us, but that knowledge doesn't stop us.

What actually happens -

Forbidden fruit : Living in perpetual diet mode, counting calories, not allowing any room for indulgence. Not trusting our mind, eventually lead to a crash. We go at it mindlessly and then thats followed by guilt and more negative feelings. What could have been a delicious dessert to enjoy, is now the catalyst to a self destructive cycle, brownies with ice-cream and fudge are bad!

Simple Remedy: Allow your self to eat the 'JUNK' food you love, denying yourself creates an imbalance. Pick a day every week, to eating any ONE favourite thing you want with absolute pleasure and no guilt!

Several years ago, I remember going on a gluten free diet for 1 week, that entire week I craved nothing but bread and pasta! On a typical day, bread doesn't even pop into my mind, but now suddenly occupies the prime spot. It showed me that whatever I choose to omit as a 'bad for me food' is the suddenly the most 'sought' after forbidden pleasure. Allow your mind to know that it can eat whatever it wants. Commit to eating wholesome nourishing food 6 days in a week, set 1 day in the week where you gather with friends or go out for a meal and allow yourself to enjoy the 'forbidden foods'. For me, its a every Wednesday, I love that it pops up mid week, to break the monotony, I cherish a leisurely luncheon with a close friend, lots of good food and laughter! A lot of my clients choose a day over the weekend, which day would you pick ?
